One person was killed and two suspects were taken into custody after a police chase ended in a crash in Milwaukee on Monday, Oct. 19, according to the Milwaukee Police Department and FOX6 News Milwaukee.

Officers tried to stop a vehicle near 22nd and McKinley at about 2:30 p.m. because it was wanted in a narcotics investigation. The driver took off in what police described as a reckless manner, and officers began a pursuit.

The chase came to an end when the fleeing vehicle crashed into another car near 30th and Center. The 40-year-old man driving the suspect vehicle and a 36-year-old woman riding with him were both arrested. Both received medical attention for injuries that were not life threatening.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The passenger in that car was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing. Milwaukee police say criminal charges will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
