Florida troopers are investigating a crash in DeLand that left a pedestrian dead early on Sunday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 92 and North Kepler Road. Troopers were called to the scene at about 5:25 a.m.
According to the patrol, the crash involved a 2000 GMC Sierra, a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 18-year-old woman driving the Sierra and the 44-year-old man driving the Atlas were not injured. Both drivers remained at the scene, the patrol said.
Troopers have blocked the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 92 near the crash site. Drivers passing through the area should expect delays and consider taking another route, authorities said.
Investigators are still working out what led to the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol said more information would be released as it becomes available.
The crash was first reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
