The Adams County coroner was called to a vehicle crash near Hampton, Pennsylvania, on Sunday evening.
Emergency crews were sent to the 6100 block of Carlisle Pike in Reading Township just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, according to dispatch records. The county coroner’s office was then notified to come to the scene.
Carlisle Pike, which is also signed as Route 94, was closed just north of the village of Hampton between East Berlin Road and Round Hill Road. The road was still shut down around 6:15 p.m., and traffic officials estimated it would stay closed until at least 7:30 p.m.
United Hook and Ladder handled the scene with help from Northeast Adams Fire and EMS, Community Life Team EMS, and fire police from several companies, including the Heidlersburg and Irishtown fire companies.
No further details on the people or vehicles involved had been released. The story was still developing, according to The Evening Sun, which first reported the crash.
