A 33-year-old Rochester man is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday morning over the shooting death of a 64-year-old man on Hague Street in August, according to WHEC, as carried by WYSL NewsPower 1040.

Troy Dukes Jr. has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He is due to appear in Monroe County Court.

Dukes is accused of killing Ronald Leonard Jr. on the afternoon of Aug. 30. Rochester police said they responded to a call about shots fired on Hague Street, on the city’s west side, and found the victim’s body in the backyard of a vacant house.

Police said Dukes and the victim knew each other and had a “previous altercation” before the killing.

Officers arrested Dukes in late September on Dr. Samuel McCree Way near Genesee Street. He pleaded not guilty to the charges last month.

Because of a previous felony drug conviction, Dukes is barred from owning a gun, authorities said.

In a separate development on the same street, police seized more than 100 packets of fentanyl and 36 packets of cocaine, all packaged for sale, while serving multiple search warrants on Hague Street. Several people were arrested in that drug bust, but Dukes was not charged in connection with the drugs, police said.
